2026 Field Day - October 3, 2026

AWUSA 2026 Field Day

The AWUSA Field Day is our premier annual sheep education and networking event for

Australian White sheep producers. Hosted at a member’s farm, Field Day provides an opportunity to see the breed in active production settings and learn directly from experienced producers.

This sheep field day is designed for all experience levels — including small flock owners, hobby producers, commercial producers, and seedstock breeders. Attendees gain practical, hands-on education while building relationships within the AWUSA community.

AWUSA Field Day typically includes:

  • Sheep breeding and genetics education
  • Flock management and production best practices
  • Hands-on sheep handling and lamb evaluation
  • Sheep farm tours featuring Australian White flocks
  • Networking with sheep producers from across the United States

The 2026 Field Day will be hosted by AWUSA President Bobby Grider and his wife, Sue, at Stablerock Farm in Russell Springs, Kentucky.

Lodging in Russell Springs is limited. If you plan to attend, please check availability early in nearby Columbia or Somerset, KY, and book your accommodations as soon as possible.

          2025 AWUSA Field Day

The inaugural AWUSA Field Day, marking a renewed chapter for the association, was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Millersburg, Missouri. Sixty guests from 11 states gathered at Harrison Valley Farms, hosted by AWUSA board member Kim Harrison and her husband, John.

Attendees had the opportunity to view Australian White sheep and learn from a range of speakers. AWUSA founder Daniel Fagerman, the first to import Australian White genetics into the United States, shared his journey of discovering and establishing the breed stateside. Additional sessions covered key topics including breed traits, retail lamb marketing, flock health, interstate health requirements, and practical fencing solutions.

The day concluded with a sheep herding demonstration by Kim Harrison and her Border Collies. Guests enjoyed a lunch featuring purebred Australian White lamb provided by Harrison Valley Farms, followed by an evening dinner at nearby Serenity Valley Winery.
